Culture Projects - Abu-Dhabi school Competition - Abu-Dhabi, UAE, 2015
It was an open competition in 2015 to design a two-gender school from KG to grade 12 with 3000 students capacity. The competition required the design to be flexible on two land plots with different sizes. The goal of developing Architectural Design Concepts for typical school configurations is to gather specific forward-thinking ideas on international best practices for new educational facilities that are appropriate for capacity 3000 students and vertical building while obtaining a better knowledge of the capabilities of the top design firms in the field School Facilities Development Program, which will require the design and construction of several schools in a very short period do time. The main design focus is the Learning Community and the spatial relationship between the learning communities and the outdoors. Upon studying the learning communities spatial requirements and the school program requirements for each cycle, in terms of indoor and outdoor learning spaces, as well as studying other school projects designed to uphold the same educational system, We established a clear understanding of what learning communities are, and what a school formed by learning communities needs. An architect called Mazin Shaqouir worked as a junior with Dr. Wael Aboneama in this competition and his task focused on the three-dimensional models for this project. This project is the only one on this website that Dr. Wael assigned the task of the three-dimensional models to one of his team.
